Meals are available at an additional cost: dinner on Friday for the doubles event, lunch and dinner on Saturday (assuming a pre-lunch start), and lunch on Sunday — all priced at €30 per person per meal, including beer, wine, and coffee.

Torneo della Lombardia

May 2025 Recap

The Torneo della Lombardia, held at Villa delle Rose in Inverigo on 10–11 May 2025, featured a full weekend of competitive backgammon across multiple formats. The Master category followed a New Double Elimination structure, where players competed in a main flight to 9 points and, if defeated, moved into a “second chance” flight to 7 points. The top four players from each flight progressed to an eight-player knockout stage, with matches played to 9, 11, and 13 points in the final. The Intermediate category ran as a main flight to 7 points with a 5-point consolation, while Sunday’s Torneo Villa delle Rose adopted a Triple Elimination format with progressively longer matches (1, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 9 points). In this event, players were eliminated after three losses, with rankings determined by match points earned and tie-breaks resolved via head-to-head results or the Bucholz system. This variety of formats ensured a dynamic and engaging experience for all participants, from seasoned masters to ambitious intermediates.
